Make Use of More Than the Front
You’ve got more than just the front of the jar to work with. The front can stay fairly clean, while a rear or lid label can take care of the extra details you don’t necessarily want competing for space.
That could be ingredients, care instructions, batch information or anything else that needs a bit more room. A lid label can also be handy when jars are displayed from above or packed closely together.
Splitting the information across the jar can make everything easier to read without trying to squeeze too much onto one label.
Check the Shape of the Jar
Not every jar gives you the same space to work with. Some taper towards the top or bottom, while others curve more than you might expect.
Before settling on a label size, have a quick look at the part of the jar it’s actually going onto. Keeping the label within the flatter area can make it easier to apply and help it sit better once it’s in place.
